water saver
In the UK, we use an average of 150 litres of water per person per day with almost 30% of this flushed down the toilet.

This water saving device will not only save one litre of water every time you flush, it will also save you up to £20 per year if you're on a water meter.

how to use
Important: Please don’t use this device in a dual flush toilet. Instead, pat yourself on the back and give this to someone who needs it

1: Carefully take the lid off your cistern

2: Squeeze all the air out of the bag

3: Flush the toilet and wait until the tank empties

4: Place the bag into the empty cistern, making sure it sits beneath the ball float

5: It will now expand to its full size, and save you 1 litre of water every time you flush

6: After a few hours, check that the bag is not obstructing movement of the ball float

think we have too much rain?
The UK seems to do wet weather like no one else. So you might be surprised to read that, because of the density of our population, we actually have less available water per person than most other European countries. London is drier than Istanbul, and the South East of England has less water available per person than the Sudan and Syria.

In some parts of the world people get by on as little as 20 litres of water per day - quite comfortably. We're not saying we should all stop washing and grow our hair while brushing our teeth in the communal bathwater, but we are saying we can easily reduce the amount of water we use if we think about it. As well as installing this device, why not turn the taps off when you brush your teeth, put the plug in when you do the washing up and only use the dishwasher and washing machine when they're full? These things are so easy to do, and when we move to using water meters (which we will), you'll find they'll also save you money.
